Tacos Mexico Restaurant | Our Story
From a Small Taco Stand to More Than 20 Years of Tradition
Our story began in 2000 with a small taco stand, a lot of hard work, and a dream. What started with cooking from home and serving food from a small trailer soon grew into our first restaurant in Apex, North Carolina.
In 2006, we opened our Fuquay-Varina location, the restaurant we proudly call our own today. Along the way, we faced difficult times, from the 2008 recession to personal challenges, but we never gave up. We learned, adapted, and kept moving forward.
When the pandemic forced us to close in 2020, we once again found a way to keep going. We delivered food, handed out flyers, visited local businesses, and did whatever it took to reconnect with our community. Through hard work and perseverance, the restaurant came back stronger than ever.
Today, more than 20 years later, this restaurant represents family, resilience, and a dream that refused to give up.
But most of all, it represents the people who have supported us along the way.
To those who have been with us from the beginning, and to those discovering us for the first time, thank you.
You are more than our customers. You are part of our story.
Rooted in tradition since 2006
Tacos Mexico opened in Fuquay-Varina in 2006 with one goal: authentic Mexican cuisine made the way it was meant to be made.
Built from real recipes
Everything on our menu traces back to traditional Mexican cooking — no shortcuts, no compromises, just honest flavor in every dish.
The food we're proud of
Sizzling fajitas, chiles rellenos, carne asada, Pollo La Crema — plus seafood and vegetarian options. Every plate built on real ingredients, cooked with care.
The salsa says it all
Our house-made salsa shows up in nearly every glowing review we get — that kind of detail, done right every time, tells you where our priorities are.
A place for the community
Tacos Mexico has become where birthdays are celebrated and families gather on a Tuesday just because. Private dining for up to 20, catering for up to 50.
